Description
Halima Alem-Marchand is a Professor at the University of Lorraine. A physical chemist by training, she has for several years been developing interdisciplinary approaches combining polymer physical chemistry, process engineering and cell biology to integrate bioprinting and microfluidic devices into her research on cancer modeling and the optimization of therapeutic nanovectors in order to understand the limitations of drug efficacy. Her work, carried out in collaboration with the Institut de Cancérologie de Lorraine, has led to the development of 3D models of tumor microenvironments and the development of cancer-on-a-chip models, recognized by her integration into the IUF (Junior Member 2019-2024) and the Decroix-Vernier EthicScience Prize 2025.
